My Current Makeup Storage

So, I've been on the look out for a new home for my makeup. I had my eyes on the 9 drawer Alex unit from Ikea, but they only had it white =( I was going to get the 6 drawer Malm unit, but I thought I'll wait for Ikea to make a black of the Alex unit since I like it much better. I decided to get those plastic 6 drawer carts from Office Depot, it'll do for now. I got it on sale which was a plus.

Here's what it looks like:

The 1st drawer has all my bases like paint pots, shadesticks. I also have my eyeliners and mascaras in here

This drawer has my eyeshadow palettes and mineralize eyeshadows

In here I have my eyeshadows, which I plan to de-pot someday

Now this drawer has my blushes

This drawer has my MSF's, highlighters, and blushsticks

It's alright I guess, I wish the drawers were deeper and a little higher cause sometimes I have a hard time pulling out the drawers since some of my makeup stick out a little. Oh well it'll do for now =D

Another MAC In the Groove Haul

So, I couldn't stop myself from going to the MAC store when I went to the mall today. I saw that they still had some of the mineralized eyeshadow trios. I ended up picking up Soften the Mood and Making it Easy, I just couldn't resist =D

Darn MAC why'd you have to go and make these trios BETTER?! But, no seriously these are just so creamy, gone are super glittery chunks that used to be in these trios!

MAC Dare To Wear Thoughts and Small Haul

WOW! This collection if full of bright, eye popping shades! If you aren't afraid of colour, this collection is for you. This collection launched 12 eyeshadows and 6 lipglasses. What I was most excited for were the Dare to Wear Lipglasses. These are a new formulation and are described as:
"An out to shock lipglass that combines bold, high-impact pigment colour, with holographic pearl for a multi-dimensional effect that helps shape, shine and dynamically dazzle the lips!" - MAC Cosmetics

The eyeshadows are definitely bold and would definitely catch the eye of those who LOVE colour. Now the eyeshadows that are limited edition include: sassy grass, louder please, zingy, shock-a-holic, crazy cool, and going bananas. The rest of them are permanent shades at MAC counters and MAC PRO. I don't consider LIME, AQUA, or SKY BLUE to be limited edition because anyone can order from MAC PRO (except online, you have to have a membership, but you can call the MAC PRO line - the number is on the website). I skipped on all the eyeshadows, although there were shades I leaning towards getting (esp. sassy grass!) I wouldn't get much use out of them. They would most likely sit in my makeup drawer.

I did pick up 2 of the lipglasses, both of which I got back ups of =P These lipglasses ROCK!!! It's got a gel like consistency, which goes on creamy and sticks comortably on the lips. I get a good 4 hour wear before having to touch up.
Top: Gimme That!; Bottom: Bold & Brash

Left: Gimme That!; Right: Bold & Brash

- same as above

Well I hope you guys liked my little haul and what I had to say about the collection. I didn't say much but if you guys want a more detailed review check out:

July Favourites

Hehe it's kinda late for this post, but oh well. So, on to my July Favourites (^_^)

Skincare:

I've discovered a line called Suki. I've tried a ton of skincare products from drugstore to expensive department store products. None of them really seem to work, and a lot of them contained harsh chemicals. One evening my sister said hey let's check out this skincare line called Suki. So, we went on the website and did a little researching and I was sold. The next day I went to the closest organic health food store and bought the 21 day dermal detox kit. All I can say is it's now my HOLY GRAIL of skincare! The full size bottles of the products in the kit are pricey, but it is DEFINITELY worth every penny. Ya'll need to check it out!!! Here's the link to the website https://www.sukiskincare.com/v2/

Makeup:

MAC's Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish: I have to mention this product first simply because I've been using it religiously since I bought it =D It is such a gorgeous shade. If you're one of the lucky ones to have got it, I hope you agree with me.

I'm also loving Lancome's Teinte Idole Fresh Wear (I'm in shade 6W, NC 30/35 for reference). It doesn't keep you shine free for 18 hrs like it claims, I really don't think any of the foundations that make this claim are true!! But it's only foundation that I've tried that doesn't make me look like a greaseball after 4 hours of wear. And I have super oily skin!! The consistency of the foundation is quite watery, but very easy to blend. It also feels very light weight on the skin as well. This foundation gives medium, but buildable coverage.

MAC's All That Glitters Eyeshadow: This is my go to eyeshadow when I don't know what eyeshadow to use. Sometimes I'll use this on its own, or I'll pair it with Embark in the outer corner and blend Texture in the crease. I loves this eyeshadow, I've made a good sized dent in it already, hehe

Top Row: Blanc Type, All That Glitters ; Bottom Row: Texture, Embark (All are MAC)

MAC's Hug Me lipstick: this is a great everyday lipstick. I'm not great at describing colour, but I would say it's a pinky mauve colour =D
Here's a swatch:

Covergirl Lash Blast Length in Waterproof: I've always been a fan of the last blast line, and this one is no exception. It really does lenghten my lashes, as well as provide amazing separation. It holds the curl, and it doesn't flake on me.

MAC In The Groove Haul and Thoughts

So, this post is pretty late considering that this collection launched early July!! Now, I didn't get a lot from this collection. I skipped on the lipsticks and the cremesheen glasses... none of them really caught my eye or I had something similar already. I thought that I would for sure get jazzed lipstick, but it just looked very similar to Ever Hip lipstick from the Liberty of London Collection that I didn't see the point in getting it.
As for the mineralized eyeshadow trios I would have to say that MAC has really improved upon these trios, I was really quite impressed!! These were much softer and smoother and had a more satin/pearly finish to them. I almost always skip out on these, cause the pigmentation wasn't great, some of them were chauky, or too glittery (especially the ones from the Red She Said Collection!!!). I only picked up Love to Love, the shades in this trio look similar to MAC's vanilla, amber lights, not sure what the brown shade would look similar to though. All of which I don't have in my collection yet =D

Love to Love Mineralized Eyeshadow Trio Swatched

I got two of the blush duos, which are Happy Together and Hang Loose. These two, in my opinion, are the most wearable of the 5 they released in this collection.

L: Happy Together; R: Hang Loose

Top: Happy Together swirled, Middle: peachy caramel side, Bottom: shimmery beige side

Left: Pink side; Middle: shimmering lilac; Right: Hang Loose swirled

The BEST and my MOST favorite purchase from this collection is the infamous Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish. This sold out within hours it came out! I'm really glad I was able to get it =D It is everthing I imagined it to be, it's just simply GORGEOUS!!! I knew that I would love it, and it certainly did not disappoint. It is such a gorgeous peachy, golden bronze shade. Which I find works well with my skintone (I'm an NC 35 in MAC)
